Mr Iain Cameron, member of the Venice Commission in respect of Sweden, participated online in the 27^th Plenary Meeting of the Steering Committee on Media and Information Society (CDMSI) of the Council of Europe, which took place in Strasbourg, France, on 18-20 June 2025.

Mr Cameron presented the findings and recommendations of the Report on a rule of law and human rights compliant regulation of spyware, adopted by the Venice Commission at its 141st Plenary Session (Venice, 6-7 December 2024), in particular those focusing on the use of spyware against journalists and other media actors.
