Chisinau - On 10 and 11 February, a delegation of the Venice Commission conducted a visit to Chisinau, Moldova, in the framework of the preparation of the draft Opinion on the Draft Law on the Constitutional Court. This Opinion was requested by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Moldova on 6 November 2024.

The Venice Commission delegation met with representatives of the parliamentary majority and opposition, the Ministry of Justice, the Constitutional Court, the Superior Council of Magistrates as well as with representatives of civil society and international organisations.

The draft Opinion will be submitted for adoption to the 142nd Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (14-15 March 2025).
