Mexico City - In the framework of the preparation of the Opinion on the draft constitutional amendments concerning the electoral system of Mexico, a delegation of the Venice Commission met with the following interlocutors: • Speaker of the Congress of Deputies, Mr Santiago Creel Miranda, • Senator Mr Héctor Vasconselos and a group of senators from MORENA, • Mr Lorenzo Cordova Vianello, Councilor-President of the National Electoral Institute, • Mr Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón President of the Electoral Tribunal of Mexico, • representatives of academia, NGOs and other competent stakeholders. The draft opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 132nd Plenary session of the Commission (21-22 October 2022).
