Pristina - In the framework of the preparation of the draft opinion on the Concept Paper on the Vetting of Judges and Prosecutors, a delegation of the Venice Commission met with the President of Kosovo Ms Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Glauk Konjufca, and the following authorities and other stakeholders: • the First Deputy Prime Minister, • the Minister of Justice, • the President of the Supreme Court, • the Acting Supreme Prosecutor, • the President of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils, • Political parties, • international community, • academics and NGOs. The request for this opinion was submitted by the Minister of Justice of Kosovo on 25 October 2021. The opinion is prepared under the Expertise Co-ordination Mechanism in the framework of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”. It will be on the agenda of the June plenary session of the Commission (17-18 June 2022).
