By letter dated 23 September 2026, Ms Márta Görög, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Hungary, requested an opinion of the Venice Commission on the 17th amendment to the Fundamental Law of Hungary and three questions concerning the future Constitution  and the procedure for its adoption.

The draft opinion is scheduled for discussion and adoption at the 149th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (11-12 December 2026).
