By letter dated 13 September 2024, the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Ms Elisa Spiropali, requested an opinion of the Venice Commission on the relationship between the representative parliamentary democracy and the binding rulings of the Constitutional Court in the context of the role of the Assembly in examining motions on the incompatibility of an MP's mandate.

The draft opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 141st plenary session of the Commission (6-7 December 2024).
