By letters dated 9 and 22 August 2023, the President of the Senate of Chile Juan Antonio COLOMA CORREA requested an opinion of the Venice Commission on certain questions formulated by a group of Senators and related to the process of constitutional reform in Chile, with a view to assisting the Constitutional Council in deciding on the text prepared by the Expert Commission.

The Venice Commission will prepare the draft opinion for adoption at its 136th plenary session (6-7 October 2023).
