Brussels – the Venice Commission participated in the event organised by the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) on the fight against online manipulation and abuse of personal data in political campaigning. With the European Parliament elections in May this year, and numerous other national elections in EU Member States scheduled for 2019, the EDPS facilitated a discussion between data protection authorities, electoral regulators, audio-visual regulators, media and various platforms active in the field.
