Strasbourg, 11 October 2018 – the Minister of Justice of Romania, Mr Tudorel Toader, visited the Secretariat of the Venice Commission. Mr Toader presented the possible content of a future Government Emergency Ordinance in the field of the judiciary, aiming inter alia to address some of the issues raised by the Venice Commission in its Preliminary Opinion of 13 July 2018 (CDL-PI(2018)007). The Preliminary Opinion is on the agenda of the forthcoming session of the Venice Commission on 19 October 2018.
