Skopje - A the request of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Venice Commission ensures legal assistance to the Election Observation Mission of the Assembly in the context of the early parliamentary elections of 27 April 2014. A 21-member delegation of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), headed by Mr Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), visits the country from 25 to 28 April to observe the conduct of the presidential election, alongside observers from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the OSCE. The delegation is due to meet the candidates in the election or their representatives, the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, civil society and media representatives, before observing the ballot on 27 April.
