The second plenary meeting of the Steering Committee on Democracy (CDDEM) will be held in Strasbourg on 29-30 October 2024.
The Committee will finalise and adopt the Guidance Note on civil society participation in the intergovernmental work of the Council of Europe. It will also hold the initial discussion on the Parameters for applying and implementing the Reykjavik Principles for Democracy. In this context, there will be an exchange of views with Mr. Marin Mrčela, the President of GRECO.
The Committee’s agenda also includes discussions with Mr. Michael O'Flaherty, Commissioner for Human Rights, and Mr. Mathieu Mori, Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.
Additionally, the Committee will hold elections for its Chair, Vice-Chair, Bureau members, and members of its two working groups. Online participation will be available via the KUDO videoconferencing tool.
