At that Summit, UN member states decided to conclude a Global Compact on Refugees and a Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. The Special Representative followed developments closely and participated in the 2017 consultation phase orally and in writing. Negotiations on the texts began in 2018 with the publication of drafts of both Compacts.
