The Special Representative of the Secretary General on Migration and Refugees (SRSG) Leyla Kayacik will visit Poland from 30 May to 3 June in order to determine how vulnerable people fleeing Ukraine can be further protected.
The Special Representative will explore how best the Council of Europe can offer its expertise to Poland, including in the framework of the Action Plan on Protecting Vulnerable Persons in the Context of Migration and Asylum in Europe (2021-2025), and in coordination with international partner organisations.
She will visit centres hosting refugees and will have meetings with representatives of both national and local authorities, relevant international organisations as well as the Polish Ombudsman Institution and NGOs.
