The 144th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission has started at Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista di Venezia. On the agenda of the two-day session are nine opinions concerning eight countries (Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo*, North Macedonia, Peru, Slovak Republic, Spain and Ukraine), as well as a report and three amicus curiae briefs for the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of Armenia.
The plenary session is closed to the public. These opinions and texts will be published on the Venice Commission website early the following week.
*All reference to Kosovo, whether to the territory, institutions or population shall be understood in full compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and without prejudice to the status of Kosovo.
