The President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Marc Cools, will head a delegation composed of four Congress members and the Congress Secretary General to participate in the 3rd International Summit of Cities and Regions on 6 June in Kyiv. On 4 June, the delegation will launch the new Congress project “Strengthening multilevel governance and local democracy to support Ukraine’s recovery”, organise a round table with national associations of local and regional authorities on the Register of Damage for Ukraine, and kick off a Community of Practice on transparency, integrity and citizen participation. The mission will also include bilateral meetings with national and local partners as well as a field visit to Zviahel, Zhytomyr oblast, on 5 June, to learn first-hand about this community’s efforts to promote open government and deliberative democracy.
