Digital by default fosters French-Croatian peer exchanges on digital tools in the judiciary

On 7-9 March 2023, a delegation of 13 Croatian judicial and legislative officials together with representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration hold exchanges with counterparts at the French Court of Cassation (Cour de Cassation), the Council of State (Conseil d’Etat), the Ministry of Justice and the Inter-ministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM). The visit was organised under the Project “Digital by Default: Optimisation of Efficiency and Quality of Judicial Services and Transparency of Judicial Decisions” and aims to enhance knowledge and expertise in the successful implementation of IT tools in Croatian judicial system.

The exchanges centred on best practices and shared challenges related to application of innovative IT tools for the digital transformation of the judiciary in line with European best practices and human rights standards. By engaging in dialogue, the project is assisting its beneficiaries (the Croatian Ministry of Justice and Public Administration and judiciary) in achievement of milestones set in the Croatian National Recovery and Resilience Plan and implementing reforms to strengthen rule of law through transparent, fast and efficient judicial processes.
