More than 150 participants, both online and in person, have already registered!
The Council of Europe Division on Migration and Refugees(DMR) and European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) are bringing together representatives of the European Court of Human Rights, NHRIs, journalists, civil society, academia and policy-makers to discuss how to strengthen fact-based communication on migration and the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
Building on the first roundtable held in 2025 (summary report ), the event will explore how to counter misinformation, disinformation and misleading narratives, while strengthening public understanding of human rights standards and the Court’s case law concerning migration.
In this context, the roundtable will look at:
- Communication challenges faced by the Court and the wider ECHR system
- Communication strategies and tools developed by the Court
- The role of NHRIs, CSOs, mainstream and social media
- Communicating the positive impact of the Court on people’s everyday lives and national law and practice
- Join us in Strasbourg or online and be part of the discussion!
This initiative is a contribution towards the New Democratic Pact for Europe.
