The Council of Europe Division on Migration and Refugees (DMR), in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University, will organise a webinar on Vulnerability of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees: Council of Europe and European Union standards  on 20 March 2026.

The webinar will draw on the 2025 Thematic Paper issued by the DMR and will provide a platform for exchange among experts and representatives of the Council of Europe, the European Union and the United Nations. Discussions will focus on the evolving concept of vulnerability in migration and asylum law, including status-based and situational vulnerabilities, relevant European and international human rights standards, and practical challenges in identification and protection.
