The Division on Migration and Refugees, representing the Council of Europe, participated in the 36th meeting of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) Consultative Forum on Fundamental Rights, held on 18-19 February in Warsaw.

The Council of Europe, represented by the Division on Migration and Refugees, is a statutory member of the FRONTEX Consultative Forum, which advises FRONTEX on issues concerning the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The meeting included a strategic discussion on FRONTEX's role and the human rights aspects of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.

Established in 2012, the Consultative Forum gathers key European institutions, international organisations, and civil society organisations to advise FRONTEX on human rights matters.
