Training on strategic planning for representatives of the Human Rights Directorate of the National police of Ukraine

With the establishment of the Human Rights Directorate before the National police of Ukraine its front task and staff faced an ambitious goal – to elaborate a strategy of Directorate’s development for the three coming years in order to make the internal monitoring mechanism of human rights observance within the police system efficient on practice. The Directorate is responsible for prevention and ensuring of human rights and freedoms in police activities as well as control over the units dealing with transportation and detention of persons suspected of having committed offences.

To support these intentions special training on strategic planning for representatives of the Human Rights Directorate of the National police of Ukraine has been organised within the framework of the Joint EU/CoE Programme “Strengthening Implementation of the European Human Rights Standards in Ukraine” on 11-12 February 2017 in Kyiv. As result of the training the representative of the Human Rights Directorate obtained knowledge on basic principles of operational and long-term planning, importance of vision, mission and values as a basis for any activity, and extensively practiced new skills trying to elaborate the Directorate’s strategic plan of activities for the next three years.
