On 13 and 15 April 2021, two out of a series of the consultative seminars “The provision of the state subvention to local budgets for the formation of a housing stock for temporary residence of IDPs” took place online.

The events held by the Charitable Foundation "Right to Protection" together with the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Association of Village Councils and Amalgamated Communities, supported by the Council of Europe Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions – Phase II” and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The consultative seminars aimed to inform local actors on the possibility of the formation of a housing stock for internally displaced persons partly financed by the state subvention to a local budget.

During the events participants discuss the following: a) the order of and the conditions for receiving the state subvention; b) steps to form a housing stock for temporary residence of internally displaced persons; c) the procedure of purchasing housing for IDPs at the secondary housing market.

The first seminar was attended by the representatives of local communities of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. The second one reached out to official sand civil society in Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Cherkasy, Khmelnytsky, Mykolayiv regions.

In April and May the organizers will continued delivering the seminars across Ukraine.
