Council of Europe Project “Human rights compliant criminal justice system in Ukraine” summarises the achievements of 2021 and discusses plans for 2022 with its key beneficiaries

As the first year of implementation of the Project’s Phase II ends, the Council of Europe Project “Human Rights Compliant Criminal Justice System in Ukraine” summarised its achievements for 2021 and discussed plans for 2022 during its second meeting of the Steering Committee (the SC), held on 17 December 2021.

The meeting was attended by the members of the SC – Project’s main beneficiaries, namely the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the Council of Prosecutors, and the Body in Charge of Disciplinary Proceedings of the public prosecution service, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Supreme Court, the Training Centre of Prosecutors of Ukraine, the National School of Judges of Ukraine, as well as representatives of civil society organizations with observer status.

The SC members positively assessed results achieved in 2021. They also expressed readiness to continue cooperation with the Project in line with the agreed general work plan for 2022 presented and discussed at the meeting.

The Council of Europe Project “Human Rights Compliant Criminal Justice System in Ukraine” Phase II is implemented within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2022.
