Capacity building on treatment of trauma among IDPs goes online in Mariupol

On October 5-8, in Mariupol the Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions” held the 2nd round of the capacity building activities for psychologists and social workers "Trauma and Loss: Intervention and Supervision".

Activity is organized in co-operation with Israel Trauma Coalition and Mariupol city center for social services for family, children and youth.

More than 30 participants from Mariupol took part in online trainings delivered by the experts of Israel Trauma Coalition. In three weeks the participants will have a series of online supervisions with Israeli experts.

The training and supervisions are aimed at strengthening the participant's competencies in dealing with psychological trauma of internally displaced persons and conflict affected population. The learners master diverse technics to consult their clients effectively. Moreover, at the end of the capacity building, they will be able to guide their colleagues working on the same issues.

As a result of the capacity building, several interdisciplinary groups of professionals will be formed to advance the quality of social services provided in Mariupol for IDPs and conflict affected population.

The activity is an important part of the Project's component on enhancing capacities of displaced institutions and other key stakeholders working on IDP-issues through tailor-made tools and trainings.
