On 6 December 2022 the Council of Europe supported the Conference on the training as an element for introducing unified approaches in investigation of war crimes which was co-organised by the Prosecutors’ Training Centre of Ukraine along with the JustGroup. The event brough together prosecutors, judges, investigators, representatives of higher educational establishments which provide advance trainings for legal professionals as well as members of non-governmental organisations working in the area of documentation and investigation of war crimes (overall 29 participants: 12 – female, 17 – male). During three panels of the conference, the participants discussed the following topics: development of unified approaches to qualification of war crimes, the role of standards regarding pre-trial investigation of war crimes and the training component as a basis for unified practices regarding investigation of war crimes.
The conference was supported within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Human Rights Compliant Criminal Justice System in Ukraine”, which is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2022.
