On 20 April 2023 the Council of Europe project “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III” launched the training programme on social cohesion and inclusion, civic participation and democratic citizenship for the pool of local experts in the field of youth. The programme consists of 5-day training of trainers, personalised mentoring support and workshops, including asynchronous learning using the e-platform of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe. The aim of the programme is to prepare trainers and researchers for effective and meaningful planning, implementation and evaluation of educational and capacity building activities in the field of youth.
On 24 April local experts of the project met with Antje Rothemund, Head of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, to explore current developments in the youth sector of the Organisation and reflect current development in the field of youth work in Ukraine in time of war.
On 26 April Maryna Popatenko, Deputy Minister of youth and Sports, met participants to share current developments in the field of youth policy and youth work, including next steps to practical implementation of the occupational standard "Youth Work".
The Project «Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III» is carried out in the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2023-2026 and was built on the results and experience of the projects “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine” in 2020-2022. The Project will extend the systematic influence by strengthening participatory youth policies and reinforce youth work in the war and in a post war context taking into account the specific needs of young people.
