During today’s Steering Committee Meeting of the Council’s Project “Strengthening Ukrainian Law Enforcement Agencies during War and Post-War Period” participants reviewed results of 2023, approved work plan for 2024 and outlined strategically important cooperation areas for future. The Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation and the National Police of Ukraine – the project beneficiaries – expressed gratitude to the Council of Europe for uninterrupted support and confirmed strong interest in further joint work. Throughout 2023-2024 the latter’s objective is to assist the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to better implement standards and apply practices that strengthen effectiveness of investigations of human rights violations, including in the context of the ongoing war.
