On 25 September 2026, a meeting of the Expert Council under the auspices of the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Social and Economic Rights was held in Kyiv.

Participants discussed current challenges and approaches to strengthening the role of business in safeguarding social rights and promoting responsible engagement with society. Particular attention was paid to the role of business in ensuring environmental rights.

During the meeting, members of the Expert Council exchanged views on further steps to strengthen the protection of social and economic rights, as well as on the roles of the state, business and other stakeholders in this area.

The Expert Council is a permanent advisory and consultative body that provides professional expertise and support to the activities of the Representative of the Ombudsperson on Social and Economic Rights. Its members include leading specialists in relevant areas of law, experts from human rights CSOs, charitable foundations, international organizations, and academic and research institutions.
