Back Parliamentary Constituational Round Table "Constitutional reform: recommendations for Ukraine"

Parliamentary Constituational Round Table

We are pleased to invite you for the International Roundtable “Constitutional reform: recommendations for Ukraine”, which is organized by International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, Centre of Policy and Legal Reform (CPRL) with the support of the European Union (EU) in conjunction with USAID RADA Program: Responsible Accountable Democratic Assembly and Venice Commission Council of Europe on April 20, at Predslava Hall of President Hotel (12 Hospitalna St.).

The roundtable discussion will serve to discuss the key constraints and design options presented in the publication through the contribution of prominent Ukrainian experts and policy practitioners in the field of governance and constitutional design.

Newly released policy paper Semi-Presidentialism and Inclusive Governance in Ukraine: Reflections for Constitutional Reform prepared by CPLR within the framework of collaboration with International IDEA will be presented on the roundtable. A paper assesses the contribution that the semi-presidential form of government can make to promoting stable, democratic and inclusive governance in Ukraine. It does so by analyzing key challenges to Ukraine’s constitutional stability in the past decades, presents relevant comparative knowledge and provides reflections and recommendations, which could benefit a wide range of stakeholders, such as legislators, policy advisors, think tanks and grassroots activists.

Please see the Ukrainian version of this web-item for full press announcement and registration.

The event will take place on April 20, 2018, at 12 Hospitalna St., President Hotel, Predslava Hall from 12:30-17:00.
