The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience has released findings from a comprehensive public opinion survey examining the linguistic, ethnic, and religious identities of Ukrainian citizens.  The study, which polled 3,500 respondents aged 18 and over, assessed the observance of rights and non-discrimination for national minorities and indigenous peoples, including internally displaced persons (IDPs).  It aims to inform policy changes to better address the ethnic, cultural, and linguistic needs of these groups.

Key recommendations stemming from the research include:

• Guaranteeing equal access to essential social services such as education, healthcare, and legal assistance, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation.
• Creating and implementing programs to revive and develop endangered languages (e.g., Karait, Gagauz), with an emphasis on educational materials and teacher training.
