This week following the invitation of Directorate General II – Democracy the Study visit on inter-municipal co-operation
and legal framework of prefect institution is taking place in France and Germany. The event is organised in the framework of the Council of Europe Programme “Decentralisation and Territorial Consolidation in Ukraine”.

During the Day 1 of the Study visit the participants (members of the Parliament of Ukraine – members of the Committee on state building, regional policy and local self-government and Deputy Minister of regional development) learnt about the legal framework of prefect institution in France and departmental scheme of inter-municipal cooperation in the Lower Rhine.
