International conference “The use of new information technologies in the electoral process: challenges, risks and prospects”

On March 27-28, 2017, the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine (Venice Commission) in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) , and Ukraine’s Central Election Commission, will organize a conference in Kyiv  The use of new information technologies in the electoral process: challenges, risks and prospects”. The aim of the conference is to identify possible areas of implementation and use of new technologies in the electoral process in Ukraine on the basis of existing practices and experience of other countries and in line with European principles and standards in electoral matters. The conference will provide a platform for discussing the advantages and disadvantages of various electoral IT systems, as well as the security implications of different results management systems globally and in Ukraine.
