Council of Europe supported two interregional roundtables with prosecutors on the role of prosecutorial disciplinary and self-government bodies

On 11 and 19 May 2023, the Council of Europe supported the organisation of the interregional roundtables for raising awareness of district and regional prosecutors on the role of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors (QDCP) and the Council of Prosecutors (CP). The roundtables were held in Dnipro and Lviv, bringing together 93 (82 – male, 11 – female) and 78 (65 – male, 13 – female) prosecutors respectively.

The roundtables were divided into several sessions, focusing on the status and functions of the QDCP and its Secretariat, various aspects of recruitment and promotion of prosecutors, disciplinary responsibility of prosecutors, as well as international standards of the independence of prosecutors and the role of the CP in strengthening the independence of prosecutors.


The roundtables were supported within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Fostering Human Rights in the Criminal Justice Field in Ukraine”, which is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience. Recovery. Reconstruction” (2023-2026).
