On 24 February 2021 a professional discussion of the draft law of Ukraine no. 3711–d “On amendments to Law “On Judiciary and Status of Judges” and certain Laws of Ukraine concerning re-establishment of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine” took place online. The event was organized jointly by the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Legal Policy and the Council of Europe Project “Support for judicial institutions and processes to strengthen access to justice in Ukraine”.

The following participants contributed to the discussion: Ms Lilit Daneghian-Bossler, the Head of Justice Sector Reform Unit 1, Justice and Legal Co-operation Department, Council of Europe, Mr Andrii Kavakin, the Project Co-ordinator, Justice and Legal Co-operation Department, Ms Iryna Kushnir, the Project Manager of the Council of Europe Project “Support for judicial institutions and processes to strengthen access to justice in Ukraine” and Mr Gerhard Reissner, the international consultant of the Council of Europe, the rapporteur of the Venice Commission, Mr Andrii Kostin, the Head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Legal Policy, and the Peoples’ Deputies – Mr Mykhailo Novikov, Mr Serhii Demchenko, Mr Roman Babii and Mr Pavlo Pavlish.
