The main objective of the project is to promote responsible business practices, foster a stable environment for responsible investment and democratic resilience and ensure that reconstruction efforts in Ukraine are sustainable, grounded in respect for human rights and anchored in the rule of law.

Main partners and beneficiaries: Respective ministries, judiciary, human rights institutions, civil society, business enterprises and their associations

EXPECTED OUTLOOKS AND RESULTS

Enhanced Legal and Policy Frameworks: Ukraine’s legal and policy framework on business and human rights are reviewed to identify gaps and recommend alignment with international standards. A National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights is expected to provide a roadmap for preventing, mitigating, and remedying adverse human rights impacts on the national level.

Strengthened Institutional and Stakeholder Capacities: Through various initiatives the national judiciary, authorities and businesses will strengthen its capacity to effectively address various business-related human rights issues in line with Council of Europe standards and relevant jurisprudence of the ECtHR.

Increased Awareness and Support for Responsible Business Practice: Awareness-raising campaigns and public information initiatives enhance understanding among businesses and the broader public of the importance of responsible business conduct.

Practical toolkits, e-learning materials, and guidance will support businesses in integrating human rights into their operations and inform affected individuals and communities of their rights and available remedy mechanisms.
