On 1-2 July 2025, a training session on Execution of Judgments and Reopening of Cases Following the Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights was held for prosecutors and investigators of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.
The training covered the “reopening of cases” following a judgment by the European Court of Human Rights, as a means for the State to address the negative consequences of a violation of the European Convention.
The session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the State’s obligations to fully execute the Court’s judgments and to ensure that there is an effective domestic legal tool to remedy violations in line with the European Convention on Human Rights.
This training was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Reinforcing National Execution of the European Court's judgments by Georgia”, implemented within the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2024-2027.
