Members of the Execution Co-ordinators’ teams from 32 countries took part in a three-day training to strengthen their expertise in executing judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.

The hybrid training took place in Strasbourg and was co-organised by the Department for the Execution of Judgments (DEJ) and the Project “Support to Efficient Domestic Capacity for the Execution of ECtHR Judgments (Phase 2)”, funded by the Human Rights Trust Fund. This programme was designed to empower staff of the Execution Co-ordinators to play a more active and informed role in supporting the full, effective and rapid execution of judgments in line with the commitments made by the Heads of State and Government in the Reykjavík Declaration.

Participants had the unique opportunity to observe parts of the 1545th Committee of Ministers’ Human Rights meeting on the supervision of execution of judgments and to engage directly with representatives of the Registry of the European Court, gaining first-hand insights into the practical work of the Committee and the Court.

The training also included interactive workshops led by the DEJ and the Department for the implementation of Human Rights, Justice and legal co-operation standards, such as practical sessions on drafting action plans, action reports, and other key communications.
