The third annual meeting of the Execution Coordinators Network (ExCN) convened in Berlin, gathering national execution coordinators and representatives from the Council of Europe Secretariat to review achievements, discuss future ambitions, and elect new leadership. The discussions centred on the progress of the "Support to efficient domestic capacity for the execution of ECtHR judgments (Phase 2)," and reflected on the Network’s dedicated work throughout the past twelve months.
The members exchanged insights and updates on ongoing initiatives and focused on the planning of future activities, with a shared determination to further strengthen coordination between ExCN members and the Council of Europe Secretariat.
The new Chairmanship was also elected for the coming two-year term. By unanimous consensus, the following leadership was appointed:
- Ms. Oana Florentina Ezer (National Execution Co-ordinator of Romania) – ExCN Chair
- Ms. Marharyta Sokorenko (National Execution Co-ordinator of Ukraine) – ExCN Vice-Chair
- Mr. Mirko Djukovic (National Execution Co-ordinator of Montenegro) – ExCN Vice-Chair
The Network expressed deep gratitude to Ms. Nicola Wenzel, National Execution Coordinator of Germany and outgoing ExCN Chair, for her dedicated stewardship during the Network’s formative first two years. Members offered heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Chairmanship, looking forward to continued successful cooperation and progress.
In the afternoon, the annual meeting between the ExCN and the CoE’s Department for the Execution of the Judgments of the European Cour of Human Rights also took place.
Together, the ExCN members continue the common effort to transform commitment into practice, driving advances in the execution of the Court’s judgments across the Council of Europe member states.
