On 24 October 2025, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova (SCJ) held consultations with external partners to discuss the institutional development path of the Court.

The event brought together the judges of the SCJ, alongside representatives of the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Ministry of Justice, the judiciary, civil society organisations, development partners, as well as other key institutional actors of the justice sector.

The consultations aimed to gather external perspectives on the Court’s strategic directions and institutional priorities, and to build a shared vision for strengthening the Supreme Court’s role and capacity in the years ahead. The input collected during the event will contribute to shaping further its Institutional Development Strategy and Action Plan, ensuring alignment with the expectations and experience of the wider legal community of the country.

The event was followed by the third Steering Committee meeting of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.” The meeting provided an opportunity to review the results achieved during the period April – October 2025, and to agree on the planning of activities for the next implementation phase. The meeting also allowed for an exploratory discussion on potential priorities for a possible second phase of the Project after March 2025, when the current phase is due to conclude.

These activities were organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova”.
