Steering Committee Meeting of the Project “Reinforcing National Execution of the European Court's Judgments by Georgia”

On 27 May 2025, the Steering Committee Meeting of the Council of Europe Project “Reinforcing National Execution of the European Court's Judgments by Georgia” was held, bringing together key stakeholders to assess progress, review strategic priorities and reaffirm commitment to strengthening the execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Co-operation Programmes Division, the Head of Unit, the deputy Head of Council of Europe Office in Georgia, the Project Coordinator and the Project staff along with the representatives of partner institutions, including the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, the Parliament of Georgia, the Public Defender’s Office and the Georgian Bar Association.

Discussions underscored the project’s vital role in enhancing institutional capacities, fostering inter-agency cooperation, and promoting the alignment of domestic legal and judicial practices with the standards of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The Steering Committee adopted the Project workplan for the upcoming period and concluded with agreement on the next steps to advance implementation efforts and reinforce national commitment to the Convention system.
