On 18 September 2025, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Republic of Moldova participated in a constructive exchange with experts from the Council of Europe and institutions specialising in the academic recognition of qualifications from France, Italy, and Romania.
The discussion focused on sharing experience in applying Council of Europe standards and transposing EU directives into national legislations on recognition of refugee qualifications.
The evant served as a platform to present diverse perspectives and practice on how the implementaion of the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR) operates across different countries. The exchange facilitates the efforts to align national legislation and relevant EU standards in view of the Moldova’s accession process.
The event was organised by the Division of Co-operation Programmes under the project “Strengthening the human rights protection of refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova: phase II” and the Higher and further Education Unit of the Education Department of the Council of Europe.
