Council of Europe targets psychological support activities for refugee healthcare professionals

The risk to experience emotional burn-out is high for healthcare professionals. Many of the refugee healthcare professionals have already had this experience, as they were frontline workers during the recent events in Karabakh.

On 30 November, a training session on prevention and healing of emotional burn-out was carried out as part of the series of phycological support activities for refugee healthcare professionals. The training focused on different aspects of phycological healing and trauma prevention, symptoms and risks of emotional burn-out, strategies on prevention of emotional burn-out, as well as practical exercises.

Participation in this training strengthened the awareness on the need to emotional self-care and introduced refugee healthcare professionals to mechanisms of prevention and healing of emotional burn-out.

The capacity building event was organised by the Council of Europe as part of its Project on “Protection of Human Rights in Biomedicine II” implemented within the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026.
