An EU-funded project implemented by the Council of Europe.

The main aim of the  Project is to support the  Republic of Serbia in the implementation of the National Judicial Reform Strategy (the Strategy).

The Project was created as result of a need to support the efforts of the Serbian Government in the reform processes. The overall goal of the Project is to ensure that the legislation regulating the judiciary is compatible with the Council of Europe standards and practises.

The project  will offer the expert advice  and analyses of  the draft legislation regarding judiciary, and thus give the  recommendations on the  judicial reform issues.

The main beneficiary of the project is the judiciary in Serbia - judges and prosecutors. Also the Serbian society as whole will benefit from inclusion of European standards that  will enable an efficient and independent judiciary.

The duration of the Project is four months until August 2007 and it is financed by the European Agency for Reconstruction.
