In response to the specific challenges faced by women journalists, PersVeilig expanded its activities in 2025 through a series of targeted initiatives. Female journalists reporting incidents through the PersVeilig platform are now supported directly by a dedicated female staff member, reflecting concerns that gender-based harassment often requires tailored responses.

PersVeilig also introduced a new training programme on dealing with transgressive behaviour, which quickly generated significant interest from media organisations. In parallel, regular meetings with female journalists were launched across newsrooms, helping to build support networks and mentoring relationships between experienced and early-career journalists. These initiatives aim to strengthen reporting mechanisms, improve support structures and address the under-reporting of gender-based harassment in the media sector.
