As part of the Council of Europe’s “Journalists Matter” campaign and the National Action Plan for the Safety of Journalists (2025–2028), the Government of Luxembourg presented the exhibition “In Search of the Truth—Journalism and Us,” developed by the Swiss association journalistory.ch, with contributions from the University of Luxembourg. The exhibition pays tribute to the work of media professionals and raises public awareness of the importance of well-researched and verified information for shaping public opinion and the proper functioning of democracy, with the aim of increasing public trust in journalism.

During his opening remarks, Prime Minister Luc Frieden emphasized the importance of explaining the profession of the journalists in order to foster a safe environment that upholds freedom of expression. He noted that “we must put back in the spotlight those who are usually behind the cameras and behind the pens: journalists.”

In his speech, Benno Laggner, the Swiss Ambassador to Luxembourg, highlighted the important work of the Council of Europe for the protection of journalists.
