On 7 May 2019, representatives of the Albanian authorities and the Council of Europe met in Tirana to identify the provisions of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages which Albania could ratify. This meeting was organised as part of the European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey.
