Teaching and education challenges of the 21st century
Following the Council of Europe conference (OING),
Commission of Education and Culture has prepared a survey
dedicated to European teachers, dealing with teaching and
education challenges of the 21st century.
It is in
this context that a questionnaire was developed to obtain
the opinion of up European teachers. More than a hundred
interviews have been conducted and we thank you warmly. A
big congratulations to countries rallied strongly ! But it
is not enough. We still need answers from all European
countries.

The training activities of the Pestalozzi Programme for 2013 are online as from today. In cooperation with our partners in our member states we can offer a wide range of training opportunities for education professionals
across Europe on and around the major aspects of education for democracy: citizenship, human rights, diversity, languages, the prevention of violence and discrimination, responsible behaviour in the social space, to name but a few.

Intercultural competence for all - Preparation for living in a heterogeneous world (Pestalozzi series n°2) (2012)
Education which helps citizens live together in our diverse societies is a matter of urgency. We all need to develop the ability to understand each other across all types of cultural barriers; this is a fundamental prerequisite
for making our diverse democratic societies work. This publication looks at the development of intercultural competence as a key element of mainstream education.
