Education for the prevention of violence in schools-Final report

The final report of the Pestalozzi Programme Module on prevention of violence in schools is now online. .
The training course was focused on making the school environment a safe space for learners. If schools are to provide a space for learning and for the personal development of every child, they need to be safe places where everyone can live and work, learn and play without fear. An atmosphere, where each child feels welcome, recognised and respected, where individual needs and learning styles are understood, lies at the core of a safe learning space. The absence of these features makes the space unsafe and prevents children from developing their full potential.

Pestalozzi dissemination and cascading

At the end of the summer two events, in Croatia and in Belarus, were dedicated to the dissemination and further cascading of the work of the Pestalozzi Programme. The Pestalozzi Programme organises between 30 and 40 training activities per year in which some 1000 education professionals across Europe are involved and are trained with regard to different key concerns of the Council of Europe in education following an interactive, learning-by-doing, pedagogy which promotes and builds on collaborative learning.
