Module series “Media literacy based on human rights” (ML)

Preparatory meeting
3-4 September 2008

The team of facilitators of the module series ML met for the first time at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The main objective of this meeting was to prepare the module series which will start with Module A on 8-10 October 2008 at the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) in Graz, Austria.

The focus of the work will be on the practices of young people and their use of information and communication technology of the Web 2.0 generation (social networks, blogs, online chat (e.g. MSN), mobile phones, digital media (photos, videos), etc) in view of educating them to become responsible users and producers of information and content.

The module series intends to identify and provide resources to train teachers to become able to promote and develop these competences, skills, attitudes and values with their learners.

The training will be led by the team of facilitators, Mr Patrick Verniers, Ms Evelyne Bévort and Ms Anne-Claire Orban, with the support of the General Rapporteur of the module series of the Pestalozzi programme, Ms Pascale Mompoint-Gaillard, and in close consultation and cooperation with the Secretariat.
