Child friendly justice guidelines

The child friendly justice guidelines were adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 17 November 2010. The guidelines aim to ensure that, in any such proceedings, all rights of children, among which the right to information, to representation, to participation and to protection, are fully respected with due consideration to the child’s level of maturity and understanding as well as to the circumstances of the case. Respecting children’s rights should not jeopardise the rights of other parties involved.
