22.11.2011 – On 24
November 2011, the Senate of Romania hold a debate on
“the protection of children against sexual exploitation
– challenges, good practices, guidelines”.
The debate will be moderated by Mr Sorin-Constantin
Lazăr, Senator and contact parliamentarian of Romania
for the Council of Europe ONE in FIVE Campaign to stop
sexual violence against children. The opening session
dedicated to the presentation of the campaign will be
followed by two thematic sessions: the first on the risk
factors of sexual exploitation of children, and the
second on the priorities in the fight against the sexual
exploitation of children in Romania.
Numerous participants will attend the debate:
parliamentarians, representatives of the government
(General Directorate of the protection of children,
National Agency of the fight against human trafficking,
Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Research,
Youth and Sport), of the Public Ministry, of the
National Audiovisual Council, of the Faculty of
sociology and social assistance of the University of
Bucarest, the Office of the People's Advocate, and many
NGOs.
On this occasion, the participants will get the
electronic version of the handbook for parliamentarians
on the Lanzarote Convention, translated into Romanian.
